Baylor Scott & White is working with the city of Pflugerville to build a hospital at 2600 E. Pflugerville Parkway, along SH 130 near the Falcon Pointe subdivision.

The healthcare group has its sights set on a 148.88-acre tract of land that Pflugerville City Council rezoned for the project Oct. 25.

Preliminary plans, obtained by Community Impact Newspaper through a Freedom of Information Act request, were submitted Dec. 5 for the Baylor Scott & White hospital in Pflugerville. The plans show:

•  The area for the hospital site is 26.388 acres.

• The hospital building is proposed at 3 stories and 97,474 square feet, with a total footprint of 51,950 square feet.

• The same building is proposed at to expand to 114,745 square feet and 4 stories.

• The hospital will include 244 parking spaces, though only 93 are required; 22 handicap spaces when only 9 are required; and 8 bicycle parking spaces, the minimum required.

• 2 driveways into parking in front of the hospital are planned off East Pflugerville Parkway. More parking spots are proposed along the SH 130 frontage road side of the hospital. The northern border of the property, Falcon Village Lane, will also have an entrance to the hospital.

• 1,398 items to be planted on the property, including 12 varieties of trees, 12 different species of shrubs and ornamental grasses, and 4 types of groundcovers and perennials.

The plans also show detailed notes and diagrams of infrastructure, landscaping, drainage, sidewalks and materials to be used.

Negotiations continue between Baylor Scott & White and the city of Pflugerville. City officials have declined comment.
