The fourth Embassy Suites by Hilton in the Austin area is a vote away from coming to Round Rock.

The Round Rock Chamber announced Friday Stonemill Hospitality LLC will build a full-service, 160-room Embassy Suites hotel and convention center on 6.5 acres of land near Bass Pro Shops. The facility will include 14,000 square feet of convention and meeting space.

The hotel is listed on the agenda and expected to be approved at the Jan. 26 City Council meeting.

“Having an Embassy Suites at this location is great for our destination retail, and a real benefit for those utilizing the hospitals in our northern sector,” Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw said. “Adding more convention and meeting space for our business community is also a tremendous win for Round Rock.”

The hotel is expected to bring at least 60 jobs and generate a $20 million capital investment. The target completion date is July 1, 2019.

“Embassy Suites hotel is a great addition to Round Rock,” Chamber Vice President of Economic Development Ben White said. “The hotel will be optimally located along the I-35 corridor near the Round Rock Premium Outlets and is a great complement to the growing destination retail center in our city.”

Embassy Suites was founded in 1984 and features more than 225 locations in six countries. The all-suite hotels feature a separate living area as well as a sleeping area. There are three other Embassy Suites hotels in Austin.
