Hutto City Council approved entering into an agreement with Strategic Government Resources to appoint Charles Daniels as the city's interim city manager, effective Jan. 2. Per the contract, Daniels will be paid at a rate of $120 per hour, with an outlined 40-hour work week. Daniels can request overtime from council for approval, with his pay listed at the same hourly rate. Daniels will also receive a $2,000 per month housing fee, per his contract.

The city of Hutto is moving forward in its search for an interim city manager, announcing its final candidates up for consideration at City Council’s Dec. 16 work session. Hutto City Council approved hiring Strategic Government Resources, a management services organization, in its search for an interim city manager at council’s Dec. 12 meeting.

The three candidates selected from SGR’s database who will be interviewed in a public work session by council Dec. 18 are: Gordon Pierce, who recently completed his tenure as interim city manager of Leander, may also be considered for the position under council’s request. Pierce is not a member of SGR’s database and must be registered and vetted by the organization in order to qualify for an interview Dec. 18, following council’s Dec. 12 vote to work through SGR for its interim candidates.


Following its work session Dec. 18, council will hold its final regular meeting of the year Dec. 19, where an interim city manager is expected to be announced. Odis Jones, the city’s current city manager, will officially complete his tenure Dec. 31.
