Country Donuts, a new locally owned donut shop, will open in 2022. The shop is located at 133 Front St., Ste. 300, Hutto, as one of the units at the Valero gas station. Owner Johnny Khan originally said he hoped to open Country Donuts on Jan. 1, but in mid-May he said construction and supply issues have delayed the opening.
Luis Marquez Studio originally planned to open in February at 3750 Limmer Loop, Ste. A, Hutto. However, unexpected delays have paused the opening until at least 2023, co-owner Loren Marquez said. Co-owner Luis Marquez said he handcrafts custom furniture that includes tables, mirrors and lamps. He said his most popular items are candleholders. Mighty Fine Burgers, Fries and Shakes announced updates on when its Hutto location will open. A news release from Mighty Fine Burgers’ parent company, Tc4 & Co. Hospitality, states the location coming to Hwy. 79 and Ed Schmidt Boulevard in Hutto will open early 2023. The original Mighty Fine opened in 2007, and today Mighty Fine operates several restaurants throughout the Greater Austin area. www.mightyfineburgers.com
Originally planned to open in early February, a Taco Casa location at 330 Ed Schmidt Blvd., Hutto, right next to Chipotle, now plans to open by early June. Hutto Taco Casa President Kelly Franklin said supply chain issues in addition to construction hurdles have delayed the opening date.
