Long story short
As part of prior and revised agreements with the city, the developers for the 35-acre mixed-use development off Hwy. 79 moved plans forward, signing Walker Consultants for the planning, design and engineering services associated with the project.
Part of the updated development agreement, approved by Council May 4, included more strict timelines.
Mayor Mike Synder stated in the City Council meeting that future development relies on the completion of parking within the Co-Op.
This parking garage, the first of several included in the agreement, will be tied to the new Jack Allen’s comfort-food restaurant. Plans to finish construction of the garage follow the restaurant's timeline for opening in the summer of 2024.
The garage will be the first six-story parking structure in Hutto, according to a press release, and will include 450 spaces.
The revised agreement between the city and developers also included an amphitheater, splash pad and green space, completed earlier this year.
The city relocated the Sunset Block Party Bash in May 2023 from Fritz Park to the Co-Op, drawing Hutto residents and visitors to see the completed construction projects.
