Two Pflugerville businesses opened their doors in August, bringing a new stand-alone book shop as well as a combination convenience store and gas station to the area.

The Book Burrow

The Book Burrow opened its own space Aug. 12 at 401 W. Pecan St., Ste. G, Pflugerville.

After previously holding a space inside of the Three Legged Goat, owner Kelsey Black moved the business to a separate location, where she sells children’s, young adult and adult books in all genres. The new location also includes a game room and a snack bar.

Black said the move from the bar to the new shop was made easier with the help of community members.

“We had a whole lot of people in our community reach out and ask how they could help,” she said. “We have a list of about 45 people that stepped up and helped us out. It absolutely blew me away.”

Food Box

A Food Box and Valero Gas Station opened Aug. 10 at 16212 Impact Way, Pflugerville.

The Central Texas-based convenience store chain offers gas, coffee beer, wine, food and soft drinks. Attached to the store is a Deli Box Kitchen, serving sandwiches, burgers and tacos. Also inside is a Which Wich that is expected to open soon.
