Black Gold opened Nov. 9 and is now offering smoked meats and cocktails in the Crestview neighborhood.

The gist

The restaurant is owned by Mems Davila, pitmaster of Wünder Pig Barbecue food truck. Clay Garrison will manage day-to-day operations and Wally Sanchez is the beverage director, according to a news release.

Individuals can find dishes combining traditional Texas barbecue and craft cocktails with comfort food inspired by Davila’s upbringing in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the news release.

The menu offers Wagyu smash burgers, brisket, sausage, churro-inspired desserts and more.

Customers are able to have an immersive experience by watching the cooking process through open views of the restaurant’s custom-built smokers and the cutting station.
