B2J Tasty Pot

Known as a “Chinese sauerkraut fish” concept, the hot pot-style menu centers on the restaurant's signature dish: tender fish fillets in a tangy broth of pickled mustard greens—called Chinese pickles—chilies and Sichuan peppercorns.

The restaurant is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Since opening in mid-2020, the Sazan Ramen team has been serving up its specialty ramen dishes to Austinites. Third-generation restaurateur Taiki Wakayama and restaurant consultant Darrel Oribello helm the ramen shop, specializing in paitan—a creamy, chicken- and pork-based broth.Wheatsville Food Co-op

The company recently announced not one, but two new Wheatsville locations replacing two Fresh Plus grocery stores in North Austin. The news comes as the food co-op is preparing to shutter its location on Guadalupe Street near The University of Texas at Austin campus sometime in late 2026. Company leaders have launched a $4 million community-funded campaign to support the future co-op grocery store locations in North Austin.Closings

Factory Mattress

The mattress store is closing its Austin-area locations, following the company's filing for bankruptcy in June. The company sells mattresses from various brands, including Nextar, Lovett, Smartlife and more. Customers can also purchase pillows, bedding products and loungers.

The sub shop opened in 2021 as the second brick-and-mortar for Jewboy, which originated as a burger food truck on Airport Boulevard. Inspired by both Border and Reform Jewish culture, the menu boasted a collection of overstuffed subs piled high with house-made meats, cheeses and deli-style toppings.
