Atos Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, an international franchise, will open its second location in the Austin area in late January, according to business partner Edgar Mendivil. The company currently operates a gym in Bee Cave.
Atos North Austin will offer self-defense-oriented jiujitsu classes for children ages 3 and up and adults. The gym's head instructor will be Kim Ramires, an award-winning jiujitsu black belt from Brazil.
Mendivil said Atos North Austin will offer a family-friendly "safe environment for all ages" with high-quality coaches.
A grand opening with kid-friendly activities and an introduction to jiujitsu is to be announced.
