Austin Community College will open on a delay Monday due to weather conditions throughout the district. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m, and classes and events begin at 10 a.m. Classes that start before 10 a.m. are canceled.

Hays CISD and San Marcos CISD campuses will be closed Monday. All activities have been canceled.

All San Marcos city parks are closed until further notice.

The San Marcos Activity Center is closed through Monday.

San Marcos Academy has canceled all activities this weekend. SAT testing on Saturday has been canceled and will be rescheduled.

The San Marcos Regional Animal Center will be closed and will not be taking in pets starting Saturday. Animal Control will be available to take calls for wildlife and dangerous animals.

Rio Vista Pool is closed through Sunday.

The Lions Club Tube Rental at the San Marcos Rec Hall is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Austin Community College will close all of its campuses Saturday and Sunday. The ACC Student Services Information Call Center will remain open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. via live chat and email.

Registration will extend through Tuesday, August 29.

ACC classes are scheduled to start Monday.

Texas State University has canceled classes at its San Marcos and Round Rock campuses Monday.

The university will be closed except for emergency personnel in Finance and Support Services, the University Police Department, and Information Technology. Classes and normal business operations are scheduled to resume on Tuesday.


Sky High Adventures and the National Wild Turkey Federation's Hunt for a Cure Concert has been postponed. The date is still TBD.

All extracurricular activities for this Saturday and Sunday are canceled for Hays CISD. Monday is still scheduled to be the first day of school.

San Marcos CISD has canceled all school activities for Saturday, Aug.26.

The Meet the Rattler event has been rescheduled for Aug 31 at 5 p.m. Previously sold tickets will be honored.

SAT testing has been canceled and will be rescheduled with a date TBD.

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department has canceled its Party in Your Park event at Dunbar Park scheduled for this evening.  

The San Marcos Public Library has canceled its Going Rogue: Self Publishing 101 event and will reschedule later on this fall.

The Seton Hays Foundation has no plans to reschedule its 2017 Boots & Bling Gala, originally scheduled for Saturday.

"We hope you are able to spend this weekend safe indoors with your families, and we pray that those most affected by the storm will be lifted up and as a community we can help them move forward," the foundation said in a Facebook post.






Posted Aug. 27 5:25 p.m.: Texas State University cancels weekend events due to hurricane

Texas State University has canceled all programs and activities over the weekend starting at 5 p.m. Friday in anticipation of Hurricane Harvey, according to a news release sent by the university police.

Canceled events include the LBJ picnic, the Bobcats are Proud spirit rally, Saturday's new student convocation and Sunday's soccer game.

University services including residence halls, dining facilities, the University Police Department and the Student Recreation Center will remain operational throughout the weekend. The Bobcat Shuttle service will be suspended on Saturday.

The first day of classes for the fall 2017 semester is Monday. The university is expected to make an announcement regarding Monday's classes by 5 p.m. Friday.

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service was predicting tropical storm force winds for South Central Texas to arrive Friday night. Hays County is under a flash flood watch from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning.
