The newest satellite center in the Lone Star College System opened for student registration Dec. 1.

Construction on the 85,000-square-foot LSC-Creekside Center, which is a satellite center of LSC-Tomball, began in October 2014 at 8747 W. New Harmony Trail in The Woodlands. The $36.3 million center was funded through revenue bonds from the LSCS general operating budget.

“We have some specific programs there and also have academic transfer courses,” LSC-Tomball President Lee Ann Nutt said. “We are shooting for strong enrollment at the Creekside Center. We’ll be moving our Cisco Networking [Academy] and electrical technology course to Creekside.”

Courses offered at the new center beginning Jan. 19 include petroleum data technology, the Cisco Networking Academy, electrical technology, business management, health occupation prerequisites and transferable courses for associate of arts and science degrees. Additional classes will be offered during the fall semester, Nutt said.

The center can accommodate an enrollment of up to 3,500 students. Academic advisers are available for student registration at the Creekside Center at the following hours:

Dec. 1-18: Mon.-Thu. 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Fri. 8 a.m.-noon
Dec. 20-Jan. 3: Mon.-Wed. 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Jan. 4-18: Mon.-Thu. 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Fri. 8 a.m.-noon

Potential students are also able to register for Creekside Center classes at the LSC-Tomball campus with no appointment necessary.

“It is one of the prettiest buildings I’ve ever seen,” Nutt said. “The style and zoning in The Woodlands served us well. PBK [Architects] did a phenomenal job.”
