On Dec. 17, The Downtown Hall of Fame, a bar and restaurant in Hutto, celebrated its third anniversary. Each year the business is rolling out new menu items and purchasing new equipment to meet the rising demand in the growing city, the owners said.
"As the city grows, we grow, and thats kind of neat," said Sean Smith, who co-owns The Downtown Hall of Fame with his wife, Judi.
In 2013 the owners added square footage to their downtown bar and restaurant, bringing its maximum occupancy from 60 to 100.
The Smiths said as time goes by the restaurant has become more family friendly, including a kids menu. This year Judi said the restaurant plans to add burgers to the menu.
"We have the space; we just need the equipment," Sean said. "We have been saving up for three years, and now were close."
Purchasing a hood vent and fire-suppression system will make way for the ability to cook burgers, Sean said.
