Water 2 Wine, a New Braunfels winery, earned five awards at the 2021 Texas International Wine Competition held Dec. 3-4 in Buda.

The TXIWC is one of the largest international wine competitions in Texas, and a panel of judges tasted more than 660 wines submitted by 140 vineyards from around the world, according to a press release.

Three of Water 2 Wine’s submissions won silver medals, and two additional submissions won bronze medals, according to the winery.

“We are so proud to be recognized at one of the largest wine competitions in Texas for wines made right here in New Braunfels,” said Tre’ Jones, co-owner and head winemaker at Water 2 Wine, in the release. “We’ve put so much care into the crafting of these wines, and recognition at this level shows that our local winery can hold its own with the best wines in the entire state.”

The winery is located at 185 S. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels. 830-609-9463. www.water2wine.com
