The resort is expected to bring nearly 300 RV lots to the area for both long-term renters and tourists. There will be a resort-style pool, a fully equipped gym, lighted pickleball courts, multiple community spaces, dog parks and washing stations, a playground, six bathhouses, card-operated laundry facilities and a walking trail.
Owner Richard McCaleb also noted the RV resort will have dedicated fiber optic internet for every RV.
“If people are working from home or they're trying to stream movies, anything that requires significant bandwidth, when you just have wireless, you can't do it. But with dedicated fiber to every pedestal, there's really no amount of internet demand that they can have that we couldn't accommodate. Literally nobody in this area has that at all,” McCaleb said. “The main thing we want people to know about Canopy is, in our humble opinion, it's the only five-star resort in this area. What sets us apart from our competition is first, the quality of the improvements. What is really noticeably different about ours is the amount of green space that we have and the peace and quiet. We're away from I-35; we don't have any railroad traffic; and we don't have any truck traffic.”
Canopy will begin welcoming monthly guests May 1. The full resort is scheduled to open later this spring. 830-310-8511. www.canopyrvresort.com
