The specifics
The event will be hosted in partnership with LaundryCares Foundation, an organization which works to address the unmet needs of laundry customers, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
The Free Laundry and Early Literacy Day event will offer complimentary laundry services, children’s books, food, family activities and access to community health resources.
The LaundryCares Foundation will give attendees access to a free digital library through Book Smart-World Reader, a reading initiative which provides children’s books and activities on mobile devices. All children will also receive a new story book to take home.
The impact
At LaundroLab’s event last year, the business was able to serve over 60 families and provide over 8,800 pounds of clean laundry.
“This event helps families in need by providing free laundry and access to local resources in a safe, welcoming environment” LaundroLab stated in an email exchange with Community Impact.
There is no limit to the amount of clothes and linens attendees can bring to be washed and dried.
