Leander will be subject to various road closures Dec. 7 for the eighth annual Old Town Christmas Festival.

The festival—comprising the Old Town Christmas parade, the Rudolph Run 5K and other events—will run from 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m., but road closures will last from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., according to city documents.

The following roads will be closed from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.:
  • West Willis Street from Bagdad Street to North Brushy Street
  • West South Street from South West Drive to Hwy. 183
  • North Brushy Street from Broade Street to Atkins Street
  • Bagdad Street from West Willis Street to West South Street


Other roads will also be closed for part of the day:
  • Portions of West South Street, South West Drive and Municipal Drive will close from 9 a.m. to noon for the running route
  • Portions of West South Street, South West Drive and Municipal Drive will close from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for the parade route


What else?


The parade will be themed around the film "The Polar Express," and there will be food and beverage stations, art vendors and a Christmas market, according to the documents.
