Three seats on the Liberty Hill ISD board of trustees will be on the ballot for voters this spring.
At a Jan. 20 meeting, the LHISD board voted to call an election for Places 1, 2 and 4 on May 2. The election follows the end of three-year terms for Place 1 trustee Chris Neighbors and Place 2 trustee Kendall Carter as well as the recent appointment of Jamie Etzkorn to fill Place 4.
The background
In 2023, Neighbors was elected to Place 1 after defeating incumbent Terry Smith while incumbent Carter was re-elected to Place 2, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
In September, the board voted to appoint Etzkorn, a Williamson County associate judge, to fill the Place 4 seat until May. Previous Place 4 trustee Kathy Major, a former LHISD educator, formally resigned in August after serving on the board for more than seven years.
The update
Etzkorn told Community Impact she plans to run in May to complete the remaining year of the unexpired three-year term for Place 4. The Place 4 seat will be on the ballot again for a full three-year term in 2027, according to LHISD information.
Neighbors and Carter said they are seeking re-election to Places 1 and 2, respectively.
