Members of the public are invited to help support students in Leander ISD at the first Battle of the Mascots-Stuff the Truck event Saturday by donating new athletic shoes for the upcoming school year.

The event, which is from 9-11 a.m. in parking lot C of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, 1401 Medical Parkway, Cedar Park, will support the Hill Country Community Ministries’ Laces for Leander campaign.

People can donate money or bring a pair of new athletic shoes—size youth 12 to adult 12 for both boys and girls—that will go to a student in the district who is on the free and reduced lunch program.

The event is sponsored by Cedar Park Nissan, which will provide one truck per each Leander ISD high school to collect the shoes. The high school that collects the most shoes and money will win the Battle of the Mascots.
