LISD’s board of trustees approved Tom Glenn High School as the official name of the campus on Aug. 7, 2014, after asking for community input. When Glenn began his term as superintendent, the district had 4,600 students, and LISD reported 24,200 students just before his retirement.

Glenn’s leadership led to the establishment of LISD’s “culture of continuous improvement” and helped shape guiding philosophies that “continue to shape the district today,” according to an LISD news release.

“I am just so honored and humbled that the board has recognized me in this way. I had the good fortune to work with so many great board members and staff over the years. [My wife,] Dee Ann, and I have made lifelong friends among these people, and our children have as well,” Glenn said.
