Julie Oliver, controller for St. David's HealthCare (she took a leave of absence in March to focus on her campaign, according to her PR firm) defeated defense attorney Chris Perri to win the Democratic Party primary runoff Tuesday night for U.S House District 25. Vote tallies from all 1,036 precincts reporting, posted on the Secretary of State's website showed Oliver with 52.22 percent to Perri's 47.78 percent. Perri had led the early voting count. In the March 6 primary race, Perri secured 37.56 percent vote to Oliver’s 25.57 percent. Oliver will now face uncontested Republican incumbent Roger Williams in November. U.S. House District 25 includes Lakeway, West Lake Hills, Rollingwood and other Austin neighborhoods and runs from Wimberley nearly up to Fort Worth. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
