Bee Cave Central Park could soon receive upgrades, following approval by Bee Cave City Council for a park improvement project.
The overview
Bee Cave City Council passed a resolution approving the Bee Cave Development Corporation’s adoption of its 2025 Bee Cave Central Park Infrastructure Improvement Project on Sept. 23.
The project was approved by the BCDC on Aug. 26, with the first phase of the project now moving forward.
“This phase is really about just doing early visibility and engineering work,” said Economic Development Planning Coordinator Chelsey Jimenez.
The details
Work in phase 1 will involve looking into the feasibility of extending Bee Cave Central Park’s main access driveway from its current end point to an existing pedestrian bridge at Freitag Creek, Jimenez said.
Following council’s decision, funds were authorized for a contract with Walter P. Moore to assess engineering feasibility.
The background
In June, the BCDC approved its strategic plan, which included a focus on capital improvement projects like upgrades to Central Park.
Upgrades to the park listed in the plan include improvements for driveways, parking areas, signage and striping, as well as stormwater management, detention facilities and water quality infrastructure.
“These improvements aim to revitalize Central Park and enhance the surrounding Recreational District, improving functionality, accessibility and the overall visitor experience,” the plan states.
What else?
All elements of the project at this stage remain conceptual and will require engineering and feasibility analysis, according to city documents.
