City officials and developers in Lakeway shared updated construction timelines for The Square at Lakeway’s portion of the City Center development, including an extended deadline for completion of Main Street, at a July 21 City Council meeting.
The overview
The City Center development consists of three projects: The Square at Lakeway, formerly known as the Square at Lohmans; the Oaks Planned Unit Development Phase 2; and Tuscan Village Planned Unit Development.
The Square at Lakeway developers are changing certain aspects of the development following an amendment approved July 21.
The details
The Square at Lakeway is a residential project with a commercial component, which includes in its plans an extension of Main Street and Lohmans Spur, according to city documents.
An extended deadline for completion of Main Street was included in the amendment passed July 21. This street was originally intended to be completed by June, but due to complications related to local water districts and developers, the completion date is now June 30, 2026.
Additionally, a zero-foot setback was implemented for multifamily buildings in one section of the development, located in the northeast corner of a planned roundabout. This implementation restores the original setback proposed before a previous amendment altered it, according to city documents.
Parking on one road in the development, Praslin Pass, has also been shifted to now be on the opposite lane of traffic.

What else?
This amendment marks the third approved for The Square at Lakeway, according to city documents.
Two previous amendments were also made in 2023 and 2024 to address delays in working with local water districts and developers.
While approving the third delay in a unanimous vote, council also requested a monthly update from staff or developers in order to monitor progress on both Main Street and other elements of the development.
These updates would be shared on the fourth Thursday of each month on Lakeway’s City Center webpage. Quarterly updates would also be shared directly with council.
