Pflugerville staff said Fletcher's last day with the city will be April 22, and officials will discuss how to fill his replacement at the next City Council meeting, April 26.
Fletcher also served as the assistant city manager of Pflugerville from 2011-20, previously serving as the city’s planning director, according to the city of Pflugerville’s website. Prior to his time in Pflugerville, Fletcher held a variety of positions within the cities of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and College Station
He also is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is an active member of the International City/County Management Association and the Texas City Management Association, according to the city’s website.
“We’ve got a heck of a lot of major projects in front of us,” Mayor Linda Anthony said. “Trey has an abundance of experience handling those, and he’s also well versed in economic revitalization, which I think is all on our minds as we think about expanding Bee Caves Road and the sidewalks.”
Ashby Grundman, director of building and development services for West Lake Hills, has served as the interim city administrator since the resignation of City Administrator Travis Askey in November.
“Ashby has done a yeoman’s job in taking on the role of acting city administrator while wearing the hat of director of building and planning services,” Anthony said. “He’s been a steady hand at the helm, and I think with Trey they are going to make a dynamic team for the city going forward.”
Fletcher previously applied for the position in the search for a city administrator several years ago and left a good impression on members of council, Anthony said.
