Ahead of the May 3 election, residents in the Lake Travis area will have an opportunity to learn more about upcoming school board candidates and Lakeway’s charter amendments on April 2 with a community forum in Rough Hollow.

The overview

Hosted by the group Lake Travis Democrats, the event is expected to include all candidates for the upcoming Lake Travis ISD school board race for Place 3, 4 and 5, with the exception of Place 3 incumbent Erin Archer, who is unable to attend due to a board finance workshop at the same time, Lake Travis Democrats president Cory Duty said in an email.

The candidates for all three positions include:

Board of trustees, Place 3
  • Erin Archer (incumbent)
  • Jessica Howard
Board of trustees, Place 4
  • Jonathan Bove
  • John Severance
Board of trustees, Place 5
  • Craig Cancienne
  • Kris Woodcock
The candidates will answer 5 pre-submitted questions followed by resident- and audience-submitted questions, Duty said. Questions will be related to proposed plans if elected, school funding, school vouchers, student bullying and more.
