Kevin Glasheen, a personal injury lawyer and real estate developer, won a seat on the Rollingwood City Council during the Nov. 8 midterm election.

Glasheen, who is an eight-year resident of Rollingwood, said Rollingwood is a small, quiet community, and, as a new council member, he plans to work to keep it that way.

“Too much residential development in our commercial corridor doesn’t help Rollingwood,” he said. “It increases traffic and doesn't help with sales revenue [for the city.]”

Glasheen said, while he does not want the council to interfere too much with private businesses, he also wants to help preserve the character of Rollingwood.

“Rollingwood is in a state of transition as we demolish old homes and buildings, and build new ones,” he said. “So we just need to be thoughtful with the transition.”

Glasheen will join Sara Hutson, who also won re-election for her Rollingwood City Council seat, and other council members at the next Rollingwood council meeting.
