Following the announcement of current superintendent Jeff Arnett's retirement, Eanes ISD officials announced their intention to find an interim superintendent by July 31, the final day of Arnett's tenure.

The approach

Per the announcement, the board met in closed session June 17 to begin the search process to find an interim superintendent, who will come from outside of EISD and serve until a permanent superintendent is hired.

The board will also issue a request for qualifications for an executive search firm to lead the permanent superintendent search process. This process is anticipated to launch later this summer and include community input opportunities.

Once a lone finalist is selected, the board must wait 21 days before officially hiring the finalist, per state law.

Get involved

Arnett’s last board meeting will be June 26. Community members who wish to speak during public comment must sign up to do so by noon June 25.

“It is vitally important for the Eanes ISD community to work collaboratively through this process to ensure our families, staff, advocates and the community have the best opportunity to grow and succeed in the future,” board President Kim McMath said in the announcement.
