A new brunch spot and fruit bowl food truck are just two updates to know from across the Greater Austin area.

Fat Rabbit Social House

The restaurant offers brunch classics such as chicken and waffles, french toast and specialty entrees. The space also features lunch options, including an adult grilled cheese and tomato bisque, a citrus and crab salad, and a truffle cheese and bacon panini. Cocktails and specialty coffee are also served.Fruition Fruit Blendz

The food truck offers whole food snacks and sips, including customizable fruit bowls and smoothies, fresh-pressed juice shots, toast, and more. Optional add-ons range from granola and chocolate chips to coconut shavings, spinach and kale.

El Pollo Rico

The Austin-based restaurant offers charcoal-grilled chicken, with customers able to order whole- and half-chicken plates, as well as carne asada, caldo de pollo, flautas and more. The building was formerly home to Dazzle Coffee, which closed late last year.

Koko’s Bavarian Beer Hall


The location features 7,000 square feet of Bavarian tradition and Texas hospitality with an expanded food and beverage menu, including wings, mozzarella sticks, whitefish dip, Bavarian pretzels, Belgian-style fries and more.

Maya Creamery

The dessert shop serves rolled ice cream in signature and Indian-inspired flavors with a variety of toppings. Also on the menu are faloodas, a type of South Asian milkshake, as well as fresh fruit milk teas and other desserts, such as crepes and macarons.

Churchrow Tejas BBQ

Simon Madera, the brain behind La Holly and Taco Flats, is bringing barbecue with a Tejano twist to Austin. The space’s bar will also include agave-forward cocktails and draft beers inspired by Tex-Mex barbecue flavors.
