The Lake Travis Community Library District announced the opening of a second library at 21209 Hwy. 71, Spicewood, in a press release Jan. 13.
The new library will open within the year and will be built at the site of the former Spicewood restaurant Pizzeria Casa Nostra.
The 5,000-square-foot building will be called Lake Travis Community Library West and will “provide essential library access for the ever-growing population of Bee Creek, Briarcliff, Rough Hollow, Spicewood and Travis Settlement, as well as the Sweetwater and West Cypress Hills developments,” the press release said.
The library district saw a need for a new library due to the popularity of the book mobile, a mobile library Lake Travis Community Library offers with books, audiobooks, movies and TV shows for children and adults, according to the website.
