An 88-room, four story hotel, Marriott/Springhill Suites, is slated to open next summer in Lakeway’s Medical Village at 322 Medical Parkway, owner Kunal Patel said.

Patel is the operating partner for Irving, Texas-based Blue Star Hospitality, which owns the new site as well as 15 hotels in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he said. The Lakeway hotel will be the group’s first lodging in the Austin area.

The project has received all necessary permits and will begin pouring the building foundation in July, Patel said.

The hotel will have 19 parking spaces underground as well as above-ground parking, two meeting rooms, lobby bar, outdoor pool, outdoor firepits, an indoor gymnasium overlooking the pool and a business center, he said.

“We picked the [Lakeway] area [for the hotel] because there is a need for rooms and a need for the Marriott flag,” Patel said. “The [Lake Travis] market is growing.”
