Travis County commissioners moved forward with bond-related business Nov. 28 with approval of an agreement with the city of Lakeway to fund a new sports complex for western Travis County.

During executive session, commissioners approved the funding deal for the Bee Creek Sports Complex project that was approved by voters in the November bond election.

The sports complex will include new turf fields and lighting; hiking, biking and walking trails; picnic areas and playgrounds. The cost of the project is estimated at $23.5 million.

In November 2014, Lakeway voters approved a $3.765 million to fund the purchase of 70 acres of land on Bee Creek Road adjacent to Lake Travis Middle School.
