From Fourth of July celebrations across the area to summer musicals, here are nine events to celebrate summer in the Lake Travis and West Austin areas.

July 4th Celebration

The city of Lakeway’s 50th July 4th celebration will feature a parade running from the Live Oak Golf Course to the Lakeway Activity Center, followed by a Hot Dog reception. This year’s theme is “Lakeway: A Golden Legacy.”City of West Lake Hills 4th of July Parade & Celebration

Hosted by the Westlake Chamber of Commerce, the event celebrating Independence Day will feature a parade, costume contests, live music, free food, games, face painting, a balloon artist and more.Fourth of July Parade and Party: Rollingwood Women's Club

The celebration in Rollingwood will offer a parade along Rollingwood Drive, followed by food, games and a raffle at Rollingwood Park.Independence Day Festival


The event will offer over 40 vendors, live music performances, fair rides, water games, face painting and more. A fireworks display will begin after sunset.Star Spangled Fest

Individuals can celebrate the special holiday at the 48th annual event with performances from local musicians, a taco eating contest and a fireworks show. The Austin Symphony Orchestra will perform ahead of the fireworks display which is set to begin at 9:30 p.m.‘Bye Bye Birdie’

Part of TexArts professional season, the musical tells the story of Conrad Birdie, a teen idol drafted into the army, who says goodbye to his small town with one final performance.'Bring It On: The Musical'

Zilker Theater Productions will perform Bring It On: The Musical, based on the 2000 movie “Bring It On,” which tells the story of competitive cheerleader Campbell as she prepares for the National Championship competition.

Rolling Video Games Truck


Lake Travis Community Library West will host the Rolling Video Games Truck in July, bringing a mobile trailer outfitted with TVs, game consoles and a catalogue of over 100 games. Registration is not required.‘The SpongeBob Musical’

The musical from Magnolia Musical Theater follows the story of SpongeBob and his friends as they try to save Bikini Bottom from a volcanic eruption.

Superhero Party with Mark Garcia

This event at Volente Beach invites attendees to dress like a superhero and participate in crafts and games. Mark Garcia will play live music dressed as Superman. Admission also includes a food truck lunch.Midsummer Celebration @ Laura’s

The celebration will feature a presentation from Creature Teacher, a mobile petting zoo that offers wildlife education and awareness, alongside a sloth meet and greet, and face painting from Lady B.
