August

'Pass Over'


Directed by Simone Raquel Alexander, “Pass Over” depicts two young men wishing for a change in pace being introduced to a stranger, who derails their plans. Parental advisory is recommended, as “Pass Over” contains explicit and racially-charged language, violence and strong emotional content, according to organizers. The run time is 90 minutes with no intermission.The Front Festival 2024

Presented by Future Front, this end-of-summer festival puts Texas women and LGBTQ+ performances and films on the front lineup. Featuring two pool parties, as well as two independent music and film showcases, the festival has four dates, with varied locations. Throughout the weekend, guests are encouraged to bring swimsuits, a blanket or chair, snacks and water and an ID. ASL interpreters available upon request.

Zilker Relays


Austin Runners Club is hosting a 10-mile team race, with 2.5 miles required for four runners or walkers. Registration includes chip timing using a relay baton, a t-shirt, DJ Mel performing post-run, Tacodeli dinner and drinks at the finish line. An out-and-back Kid’s Dash is available for purchase and includes dinner and a kids cape, and all proceeds go towards Marathon Kids.Austin Bat Fest

Austin’s 2024 Bat Fest will include live music from multiple bands, food and drink vendors and arts and crafts vendors. Bat flight typically begins between 7-8:45 p.m. Visitors can bring sealed water bottles, soft sided coolers with water only and chairs. Bags will be searched.

Lakeway Spikeball Day

Recreational teams of all ages are welcome to attend for a morning of spikeball, and the first 25 people will receive a free lunch. Prizes, giveaways, free sports drinks and waters will be available, as well. If enough participants sign up ahead of time, a tournament will be considered.Fall Pecan Street Festival

The Pecan Street Association presents an arts and crafts music festival, and proceeds are donated toward local nonprofit groups and municipal-aid organizations. The event includes over 300 artisan vendors, music, food concessions and a kids area with a petting zoo.Community First! Village volunteer day


The Humanitarian Committee at the Westlake Chamber of Commerce will volunteer with Community First! Village, developed by Mobile Loaves and Fishes, which helps people experiencing homelessness by providing housing. Volunteers will work in the Genesis Garden, so closed-toed shoes, gardening gloves, long pants, socks, hats, sunscreen and bug spray are strongly encouraged.Fit Fest at HCI

Hill Country Indoor Sports & Fitness is hosting its first Fit Fest with coaches and instructors leading nine classes on three stages. Health and wellness popups will be at the vendor village, along with local food and drinks, live music and childcare options. A recovery zone will include ice baths, IV drip therapy and infrared therapy. The event is open to anyone above 15 years of age.Lakeway Cornhole Tournament

Family and friends can attend to play or watch, with college football playing on the jumbo screen, food from local vendors for purchase, spikeball and face painting available. Teams of two will compete in a double elimination competition. A prize and trophy will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, and all ages are welcome.3rd Annual Igniting Independence Gala

The semi-formal gala raises money for Independent Identity, a program for adults with autism and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities. The evening includes dinner, dessert and an open bar, along with a live and silent auction. Adults 21 and up are preferred.2nd Annual Taste Lake Travis Food and Wine Festival


Local chefs, wineries, distilleries and artisans are coming together for an afternoon of tastings, samplings and local vendor markets. Beverages are geared towards adults, but the food festival welcomes all ages.
