Meade Engineering, a Phoenix-based firm responsible for creating multiple data centers in Texas, opened its first Austin office in January, according to a press release.

The company, which specializes in mechanical and electrical engineering, design and commissioning, has previously worked on data centers in Houston and Austin. These data centers house large computer servers that process and store data for companies.

Most recently, the firm designed a 1.5 million-square-foot data center in Round Rock for Switch Inc., a Las Vegas technology company, next to the Dell Technologies global headquarters.

Situated on the fifth floor of the Cielo Center office building in West Lake Hills, the 3,388-square-foot workspace will house four key players in the company, including Chief of Staff Christy Schrader, as well as a marketing manager, mechanical engineer and electrical engineer in training.

According to the release, the new office will allow the company to focus on more projects both in Texas and across the country.

"With a strategic focus on inspiring engineering excellence, providing exciting career opportunities and shaping the future of infrastructure, our Austin team is poised to contribute," said Johnathan Meade, the chief operating officer at Meade Engineering.
