Posted July 4 The owners of a North Austin amusement park and miniature golf course have decided to put their business to bed. Kiddie Acres Amusement Park & Miniature Golf, located at 4800 Howard Lane, Austin, closed June 30. The owners, Joseph and Marina Herring, announced the closure on Facebook, saying they were retiring after 38 years. "We are thankful for a wonderful career of bringing smiles to the children of Austin," Joseph Herring wrote. "Thank you for all the support and love as we transition into this new stage of our lives."
Facebook users shared the post more than 50 times, as well as memories from their time at Kiddie Acres, which included vintage rides such as a train and a carousel.
  A liquidation auction for the items and equipment at Kiddie Acres, including the train and other park rides, is scheduled for Aug. 8 at the amusement park.
