Members of Sendero Health Plans can now seek care at Austin Regional Clinic, according to a news release issued by the medical group July 19.

Sponsored by Central Health, Sendero Health Plans is a publicly funded health insurance that covers over 53,000 residents in Burnet, Bastrop, Travis, Fayette, Hays, Williamson, Lee and Caldwell counties.

Sendero offers access to health care for Central Texans through its health insurance exchange product, IdealCare, and health plans for low-income residents, including its Texas Children's Health Insurance Program, or CHIP, and STAR Medicaid Managed Care Program plans, and the Texas CHIP perinatal plan. It also offers its members benefits, such as free youth sports for children, free diapers, free pregnancy testing and free baby showers, according to the news release.

Sendero’s IdealCare membership recently doubled to over 40,000 members after major health care plans—including Humana Health Insurance and Aetna Health—left the Texas health insurance market place.

“We are excited that with this new agreement, Sendero members now have access to ARC's extensive network of quality providers and locations," Sendero CEO Wes Durkalski said in the news release.

ARC has 22 clinic locations across Travis, Hays and Williamson counties, offering access to more than 325 primary and specialty care providers, according to the news release.

Existing individual and family Sendero Health Plans are effective through Dec. 31, 2017. Enrollment for 2018 begins Nov. 1, 2017.
