Schunk Xycarb Technology Inc., a production facility that manufactures components used in semiconductor wafer processing, received a $3.9 million Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund grant, according to a June 18 state news release.

The TSIF grant will help Xycarb expand its Georgetown facility, which will create 25 new jobs and invest $42 million in capital, according to the release.
Xycarb manufactures and refurbishes silicon carbide-coated graphite, quartz, ceramic and silicon parts. The expansion will double Xycarb’s processing facility square footage, allowing it to increase production space and add further automation abilities.
