City staff appointed Cameron Goodman as economic development director, according to a Sept. 26 release.

“Cameron is the right professional to guide our efforts and the right leader to guide our team. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to Georgetown,” City Manager David Morgan said in the release.

Goodman comes to Georgetown with experience running economic development departments in two fast-growing communities in Texas.

Most recently, he served as economic development director in Leander, which was listed alongside Georgetown as one of the five fastest-growing cities in the country.

Previously, he served as economic development director in Richmond and League City in the Houston area as well as in Waco.

His first day with the city of Georgetown was Oct. 10.

“Georgetown is a fantastic community full of history and opportunity,” Goodman said. “I am excited to join the city of Georgetown team and look forward to building on the hard work that has already been accomplished by city leadership and staff.”
