On March 14, H-E-B launched a $12.5 million expansion to its Georgetown store on Williams Drive to allow for a larger variety of products and offerings, according to a company press release.

The existing location at 4500 Williams Drive, Georgetown is 84,000 square feet, and the company plans to add an additional 12,500 square feet. Construction began March 14 and will be complete in late November.

The redesigned store will include a new scratch bakery with artisan breads, a tortilleria and gourmet fudges; a new floral department with a floral designer and flower delivery; and an extra 3,200 square feet in the produce department with a new juice bar and fresh-cut fruit bar. The company also plans to expand the service checkout area with new checkout stands.

Jeff Thomas, H-E-B senior vice president and general manager of the Central Texas Region, said in a news release the expanded services represents feedback from Georgetown customers over the past few years.

“We’re thrilled to offer more products and services, create more space for customers, and give shoppers a fresh, beautiful store that represents their community,” he said.

The redesigned store will also have an outdoor Texas Backyard Section with grills and patio furniture, an expanded beer and wine department, a new sushi bar, an olive bar, new restrooms, a new business center, and an H-E-B Pharmacy Patient Education room that will offer immunizations, screenings and education for customers.

The store will remain open throughout the construction process during its normal business hours of 6 a.m.-midnight.
