Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are seven events in the Austin area to explore including a historic homes tour, a festive beverage crawl, a movie night and a holiday lights show.

37th Street Lights

The annual display from a group of neighbors will be on from sunset to 10 p.m. this holiday season. The neighborhood lights also feature a “Stuffed Animal Petting Zoo.”‘Elf’ Movie Event

At this screening of “Elf” in the Lakeway City Hall parking lot, families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy hot cocoa and write a letter to Santa.Merry on Main

Community members can shop for Christmas presents at the market, which will showcase over 30 vendors selling a variety of items made by local artists.Preservation Georgetown Home Tour 2025

Select homes in Georgetown will be open to the public for this year’s tour honoring C.S. Belford, a local designer and builder of over 60 homes in Old Town and the Belford Historic District. Architecture, interior design and history aficionados are invited to tour a curated selection of preserved 19th and early 20th century homes designed and constructed by Belford. Tour participants will also be able to see inside the St. John’s United Methodist Church sanctuary, which Belford designed.

Grinch on the Green

The mastermind of Christmas crime is making his return to Kyle with sweet treats, market vendors, live music, photo ops, free activities for children and Grinch movie screenings. Attendees can bring a nonperishable food donation to get a photo with the Grinch.9th annual Hippo Claus Crawl


Hutto’s annual Hippo Claus Crawl will take place in downtown Hutto, where festive beverage stops will be waiting. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, visit attractions and take photos with Santa.
