Floor & Decor is slated to open its first location in Georgetown in November, a representative with the company told Community Impact.

The hard-surface flooring retailer will move into a former H-E-B grocery store located off I-35. H-E-B closed the 67,000-square-foot building and opened a new 121,000-square-foot store across the highway this summer, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.

A representative with H-E-B said the company sold the property to a buyer who was working with Floor & Decor on Feb. 5. The building will now undergo a $7.2 million renovation, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

Floor & Decor sells tile, natural stone, wood, and luxury and laminate vinyl plank, tools, wall tile, decorative materials and accessories for hard-surface flooring projects. The retailer has stores nationwide that carry over 1 million square feet in flooring and provide free design services.
