Public Stargazing Nights
Volunteers from the Williamson County Astronomy Club will help stargazers use telescopes and cameras to observe celestial objects from Garey Park. Park visitors can bring blankets and chairs.

The play, filled with community and generations of music, will be performed at the Georgetown Palace Theatre. In the Heights is two and a half hours long and is rated PG.

Park visitors are welcome to engage in supervised, unguided and nature-based play time. Park staff will give participants items from nature like pinecones and leaves to aid learning and creative thinking.

Community members can walk around downtown Georgetown and enjoy music, live art demonstrations, performances and shopping at 11 different locations. Participants can pick up badges for the stroll at Shotgun House Museum, Tin Barn Alley and Grace Heritage Center. Food and beverages from local restaurants will be available along the route.

Kayakers of any skill level are encouraged to gather for a sunset kayaking excursion. Upon arrival, attendees will receive basic instruction and be provided with kayaks, paddles and life jackets. The 1.5-mile route is along the banks of the South Fork of the San Gabriel River. Attendees may bring a water bottle, clothes that can get wet and water shoes.

Hosted by the Georgetown chapter of American Association of University Women, the race is free and open to the public. Interested parties can buy duck tickets for a chance to win gift card prizes. Three hundred rubber ducks will be released at the lower dam crossing in San Gabriel Park. The ducks compete in heats of 50 managed by the Georgetown Fire and Police Dive Team.
