Jay Roush, owner of Moonie’s Burger House at Anderson Mill Road and US 183, said he wants customers to stop in for more than just a burger fix.
Roush took over ownership of the location in March 2014 and has added healthier menu items as well as a dozen local beers.
“We’re scratch-cooking a lot of the items now,” he said. “The quality is a lot better.”
The location also offers gluten-free options, and it has added new salads to the menu, including a Greek salad.
Roush said he plans to expand his healthy menu options in 2016 and will create a low-carb, high-protein menu, which will include a fresh vegetable side dish.
“We want to be known as more than just a burger joint,” he said.
