D-BAT, an indoor baseball and softball training facility, opened June 26. The facility has rentable batting cages with pitching machines and performance technology. Softball and baseball lessons are taught in 30-minute or hourlong sessions. D-BAT will hold over 50 camps and clinics annually. Memberships, birthday parties and a pro shop are also available. Now open: The PREP School of Crystal Falls

The PREP School of Crystal Falls, a private preschool, opened June 29 in Leander. The preschool is enrolling children 6 weeks to 5 years old and enrolling for its kindergarten program. Director Lindsey Robidas said the school functions like a "mini elementary school," with outdoor areas, technology rooms and enrichment programs. The school is at 3361 N. Coming soon: Cajun Skillet


Cajun Skillet will open a standalone restaurant in Cedar Park as an addition to its regular food truck and catering service. The New Orleans-style restaurant will serve gumbo, po’boys, fusion tacos, bread pudding varieties and basil lemonade. Owners Steven and Shantrese Gillam said the restaurant will open in early August at 251 N. Bell Blvd., Ste. 101, Cedar Park. Relocation: Müv Dance & Fitness
