Cedar Park Police Department held a promotion ceremony for six police officers in early February.

Sgt. Antonio Alvarez, Cpl. Jose Alejandro, Sgt. Krista Landry, Lt. Kristy Whitley, Lt. Justin Miller and Cmdr. Coy Brown all received promotions. This was the largest number of officers promoted in a few years, Media and Communications Specialist Alicia Gallagher said.

Gallagher said these officers were eligible through the department’s standard promotion process involving a meet and confer agreement between the city of Cedar Park and the Cedar Park Police Association and rules and regulations under the civil service commission. Details about the promotions, such as pay increases, were not provided.
