Unlike its parent league, the NBA, the G League—a 29-team developmental league for the NBA—has canceled the remainder of its 2019-20 season, according to a June 4 news release.

The Austin Spurs, an affiliate of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, compete in the G League and play their home games at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

The NBA G League’s regular season was scheduled to conclude March 28 before play was suspended March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NBA G League still plans to name end-of-season award winners, including for the Most Valuable Player, Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards.

“While canceling the remainder of our season weighs heavily on us, we recognize that it is the most appropriate action to take for our league,” NBA G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim said in the news release. “I extend my sincere gratitude to NBA G League players and coaches for giving their all to their teams and fans this season. And to our fans, I thank you and look forward to resuming play for the 2020-21 season.”

The NBA will resume play for the 2019-20 season soon. On June 4, NBA owners approved a plan to finish the remainder of the season and playoffs at Disney World in Orlando
