The details
Representatives from the city and Williamson County came out to officially open construction on the major infrastructure project. Once complete, the project will provide a new four-lane connection between New Hope Drive and Parmer Lane. The roadway will also alleviate traffic at Parmer and Whitestone Boulevard, and improve mobility throughout the region, according to a news release from the city.
The $36.5 million project, which was funded through 2015 and 2022 bond programs and 2020 and 2024 inter-local agreements with Williamson County, is expected to be complete in fall 2027.
The new project will add:
- A new four-lane arterial roadway connecting New Hope Drive and Parmer Lane
- Intersection and signal improvements, turn lanes, raised medians and street lighting
- A bridge over Brushy Creek
- A shared-use path connecting to the Brushy Creek North Fork Trail
- Curb and gutter, drainage facilities, and utility upgrades, including water, wastewater and illumination improvements
- Enhanced emergency response times for Fire Station 4
“The Toro Grande Boulevard project will supply additional connectivity and provide a safe north/south roadway for motorists, bikers and pedestrians,” Williamson County Commissioner Valerie Covey said. “Williamson County residents continue to vote in favor of road bonds for construction projects that allow us to make improvements as growth continues in our county. I'm grateful for our partners like the city of Cedar Park, who help make these projects possible.”
