Effective Jan. 22, Sean C. Tinney will start as Cedar Park Regional Medical Center’s new CEO, according to the hospital’s Dec. 19 announcement.

The overview

Tinney will be replacing the hospital’s previous CEO, Bo Beaudry, who’s last day was Sept. 15. Since then, Leslie Paul Luke has been operating as the hospital’s interim CEO and will continue until Tinney starts in January.

The background

Since 2013, Tinney has been serving as the chief operating officer at Medical West in Birmingham, Alabama. Medical West—an affiliate of UAB Health System—has 310 beds, a Freestanding Emergency Department, an imaging center and an ambulatory surgery center, according to the news release.

Before Medical West, Tinney has held positions as the president and CEO for Ascension St. Vincent's East in Birmingham as well as the president of Rural Hospital Operations, according to the release. In 2015, Tinney was recognized as one of Becker's Hospital Review's Rising Stars: 25 Healthcare Leaders under 40.

Quote of note

“I am honored to join the exceptional team at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center and look forward to working collaboratively to fulfill our mission of helping people get well and live healthier lives,” Tinney said in the news release. “Together, we will continue to build on the hospital's achievements and strive for excellence in all aspects of patient care.”
