Cedar Park City Council passed several speed limit changes—mainly decreases—on Oct. 24.

The changes were previously discussed Oct. 3, and the roads set to see adjustments are:
  • Anderson Mill Road
  • US 183/Bell Boulevard
  • FM 1431/Whitestone Boulevard
  • FM 734/Parmer Lane
  • Ronald Reagan Boulevard

In a nutshell

Speed limits are reviewed periodically to account for new roadway construction, adjacent development and changes in driver behavior, according to the agenda item.

The Texas Department of Transportation recommends using the 85th percentile speed, or the speed at which 85% of drivers drive at or below on a given road, to determine speed limits. That number was considered in determining the new speed limits, according to the agenda.
