MLK Day of Service
The city of Pflugerville will host a day of service to help clean up Pfluger Park and the surrounding areas. Families are invited to help, and all cleanup equipment will be provided. Participants will meet at the Gilleland Creek Park pavilion for a short orientation before beginning the cleanup.

The Round Rock Black History Organization will host its 39th annual Commemorative Walk & Celebration for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The walk, which the public is invited to participate in, will begin at Eagles Nest Street and end at Sweet Home—The Pinnacle of Praise. After the walk, a program will take place with keynote speaker Anthony Watson, Stony Point High School principal.

The Georgetown Project will host an event where high school students can participate in community service projects and activities. The event will feature an interactive presentation, free snacks and lunch, and a certificate for three service hours.

The Dunbar Heritage Association will honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with a wreath-laying ceremony in downtown San Marcos before a silent walk to the Hays County Courthouse Square. A reception will follow with free food and music at the Dunbar Recreation Center.

Community members can gather in downtown Austin for the annual event to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. The festival portion of the event will feature local vendors and musical artists at Huston Tillotson University.

The Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission and city of Cedar Park have collaborated to host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration with a march, musical performances, essay readings, dances and more. The event is family-friendly and open to the public. Attendees can also bring food donations to benefit the Brighter Days Food Pantry and hygiene products for The Healthy Hygiene Project.

The Bastrop County Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission will hold its 38th annual Walk for Peace, Justice and Equality. The walk from the Elgin Depot Museum to Booker T. Washington Elementary School will be followed by a program at 11 a.m.
