Veterinarian Regional Orthopedic Center opened the first Central Texas clinic of its kind in far Northwest Austin in mid-August.

The details

VROC specializes in orthopedic surgery for cats and dogs, focusing on the bones, joints and spine.

According to a news release, 15% of dogs and 12% of cats will experience significant orthopedic issues that require specialized treatment during their lifetime.

The 17,500 square foot facility features:
  • Four operating rooms with advanced imaging systems
  • Minimally invasive equipment to reduce surgical trauma
  • A rehabilitation center with underwater treadmills and therapeutic equipment
  • Pain management protocols to minimize surgical impact and accelerate recovery
The clinic's second floor also provides space for educational programs, surgical training and research initiatives.

Quote of note

"For too long, pet families in Central Texas have had to travel hours, wait weeks, or pay too much for access to specialized orthopedic care for their beloved companions," VROC founder Dr. David Allman said in the release. "While general veterinary hospitals treat everything from ear infections to cancer, our entire team lives and breathes advanced bone and joint surgery. This specialization translates to better outcomes and faster healing for pets."
